Asmera - Alabama Liaison

Asmera is an avid outdoors-woman, who  loves to find the connective tissue (or the mycorrhizal network) that threads us all together. A Tuskegee University Alumna, she spent precious moments volunteering and learning at various Black Farms. From them, she learned beekeeping and apiary skills, and the beautiful therapeutic, awe inspiring effect that Mother Nature and Her creations provide the world. Her greatest desire is to share the wonder of Nature, resilience, Black Ingenuity and Self Determination with others. Ase O!

Chakiara - Assistant Alabama Liaison

Chakiara is the lovely Alabama Liaison Assistant for Black Too Earth. Her journey and love for farming and volunteerism started In Georgia by being a participant of Black Too Earth events in 2021. She’s been enjoying expanding my farming skills, connecting with black farmers and volunteering on their land, healing through her experiences, while learning new skills and history about stewardship and black land ownership. She’s happy to be back in her home state connecting with farmers, gardeners, and growers, and networking to grow food and feed our communities together in Alabama.
